The M4A1 is a highly customizable firearm, composed of several parts: upper receiver, pistol grip, magazine, buffer tube, buttstock, charging handle, trigger, rear sight, gas block/front sight, barrel, handguard, and muzzle. This modular design allows the model to support a variety of attachments.
See this image on the right, for example. It has a different barrel, muzzle, sight and gas block. It also has an additional attachment, which is the vertical foregrip. With new models and updates, the possibilities can be endless.
